Glenbard North Theatre Boosters Meeting – January 31, 2022 – 6:00 PM

President Report – Mary Ellen

• Minutes of December 6, 2021 approved – motion made by Christine Housour, seconded by Chris Henry, unanimously passed
• Will change time of board meetings to 6:00 PM

Faculty Report – Mr. King

• Auditions for studio play and musical were held – 83 students came out, typically have 110-130 for the musical
• No longer doing winter play
• Next year will be just 2 plays per semester
• Brunch dates: March 5, April 23 – will get us numbers of students attending
• Theatrefest canceled and we are no longer paying for Ruby
• Mrs. Orlin is directing the musical – looking for financial support from Boosters – estimated costs of $3000 for costume rental and $2000 for lighting rental – will get firmer costs for next meeting
• Women of Troy: March 10, 11, 12; 

Treasurer Report – Chris 

• $72 from sales of flash drive, memberships
• No activity in December

• Minutes of October 18, 2021 approved – motion made by Chris, seconded by Violeta, unanimously passed

Faculty Report – Mr. King

• Theatre Festival – District is paying for 50%. Cost per student was $254, now w/Boosters donation is $110. Food allowance – $31/day – money for 6 meals, but only need to get 4
• Ruby $589.27
• Donation would be direct payment to bus company – $2046 – North American Charter
• Pizza party on night of remount of Silent Sky for Festival – January 5th, performance at 7PM; pizza, water, dessert 6-6:30 PM; 44 people – about 13 pizzas. Motion made by Christine, seconded by Chris, to approve pizza party expenditures – unanimously passed.
• Spring play auditions in January.
• Next interest meeting is January 11th.

Treasurer Report – Chris and Violeta  

• Chris presented Treasurer’s Report for August, September, and October.
• Beginning balance: $7,761.34. Ending balance: $10,478.64.
• Carwash made $1,827.00, plus $84.00 of money found at the carwash and not claimed; expense of $99.50 for pizza

Glenbard North Theatre Boosters Meeting – October 18, 2021 – Meeting began at 6:34 PM and ended at 7:20 PM

President Report – Mary Ellen

• Minutes of August 23, 2021 approved – motion made by Christine, seconded by Ronnie, unanimously passed
• 50/50 raffle permit has been applied for – Village should be acting on it at their October 18th board meeting
• Open positions – Vice President, Secretary, Website Technician: Once Mr. King’s new/former administrative assistant gets up to speed, can turn those duties over to her

Faculty Report – Mr. King

• Lots of kids are showing up for crew.
• Jill Moy is Mr. King’s new/former administrative assistant. 
• Ruby cannot continue to work for us, so we will be paying her ¼ of what was budgeted. We need an invoice for her.
• Theatre Fest costs – if play is accepted, school will reimburse money. 24 students and 5 staff members have signed up so far. Bus cost is $3,828; student registration of $55/student – total $215; hotel – $5,542, IL – $105, donate – $100. Total $9,970 includes admission. 
  • No food included – hotel serves breakfast, lunch and dinner on their own. Cost is $407/student. If we bring a show, cost will be reduced to $287/student. (3 years ago was $270)
  • Christine moved and Ronnie seconded that the Boosters make an initial donation of $3,000 for Theatre Fest costs.

Glenbard North Theatre Boosters Meeting – April 23, 2021 (Following Parent Information Meeting)

Present: Mary Ellen Graf, Christine Housour, Violeta Paunova, Nathan King, Ronnie Bakir, theatre parents

President Report – Mary Ellen

• Welcomed parents
• Asked board members to introduce themselves and talk a little about what they do in their role
• Described open positions – Vice President, Secretary, Fundraising

Faculty Report – Mr. King

• Mr. Lopez resigned, so Mr. King will be getting a new assistant
• Submitting Silent Sky to the Illinois Theatre Festival. Costs will be higher  – bus will be 1 student/entire bus seat, hotel will be 1 student/room. School would help defray costs. Could take GBN buses instead of a bus liner.
• Will be using Ruby again.
• Carwash has been approved for September 11th. Tickets from Nicole, Mr. King will put online. Tickets sell for $5 each.
• Can do brunch. Boosters would wear mask and gloves and serve students.Use cafeteria, which has sneeze guards.

Treasurer Report – Violeta  

• Preliminary budget estimating $5,450.00 in income from membership, fundraising, concessions, 50/50 raffle, flash drives, and cash box. Expenses estimated at $5,325.00 – scholarships, concessions, 50/50 raffle, Secretary of State, cash box, play/musical support.
• Chris Henry will be Treasurer next year. Violeta and Mary Ellen will make arrangements with BMO Bank to remove Violeta’s name and add Chris’s.

  • Can do carwash. Will purchase pizza for students. Mr. King will be present.

Glenbard North Theatre Boosters Meeting – January 25, 2021

Present: Nathan King, Mary Ellen Graf, Christine Housour, Violeta Paunova, Tina DiVarco 

President Report – Mary Ellen

• Approved December 7, 2020 minutes. Motion made by Christine, seconded by Violeta. Unanimously passed
• Open positions – Vice President, Secretary, Webmaster – will continue to look for parents to fill these positions. Mary Ellen acting as Secretary and Webmaster.
• Tax exempt certificate renewal – allow for 90 days to receive certificate – has not been received yet
• Two commercials for production – one promoting Boosters and one promoting Chipotle fundraiser

Faculty Report – Mr. King

• Kids are having fun with 10 Ways play. Everything is on schedule. Kids are less stressed than with last production.
• Decision was made to cancel musical. Will host a virtual variety show April/May weekend. Audition will be a rough version of what kids want to do. 
• Administration is meeting with various groups regarding groups meeting in person. 

Treasurer Report – Violeta  

• Ending balance: $9,268.49
